The DVDUniqueID property retrieves a system-generated ID that uniquely identifies the current disc.
VidWebDVD.DVDUniqueID As String
This property takes no parameters.
This property returns a String that serves as a unique identifier for the current disc.
If the property fails, Err.Number may be set to one of the following values.
|E_UNEXPECTED||MSVidWebDVD has not been initialized.|
|VFW_E_DVD_INVALIDDOMAIN||You attempted to take the value in a domain that does not support this property.|
|E_NO_DVD_VOLUME||No DVD in the machine.|
|E_REGION_CHANGE_FAIL||The DVD has a different region than the player.|
|VFW_E_DVD_OPERATION_INHIBITED||Operation prevented by UOP command.|
This property is read-only with no default value. The identifier (ID) number is not truly unique, but it is unique for all practical purposes. The ID applies to all replicated copies of a disc. In other words, all copies of a specific movie have the same ID. The ID is based on file sizes, dates, and other information, and not the BCA value.
