Microsoft DirectX 9.0 |

Transforms the 3-D vector normal by the given matrix.

Syntax

D3DXVECTOR3 *WINAPI D3DXVec3TransformNormal(

D3DXVECTOR3 *pOut, CONST D3DXVECTOR3 *pV, CONST D3DXMATRIX *pM);

Parameters

pOut- [in, out] Pointer to the D3DXVECTOR3 structure that is the result of the operation.
pV- [in] Pointer to the source
D3DXVECTOR3structure.pM- [in] Pointer to the source D3DXMATRIX structure.

Return Value

Pointer to a

D3DXVECTOR3structure that is the transformed vector.

Remarks

This function transforms the vector normal (x, y, z, 0) of the vector,

pV, by the matrix,pM.If you transform a normal by a non-affine matrix, the matrix you pass to this function should be the transpose of the inverse of the matrix you would use to transform a coordinate.

The return value for this function is the same value returned in the

pOutparameter. In this way, theD3DXVec3TransformNormalfunction can be used as a parameter for another function.
